For almost nine years, Hot Little Rocket’s unforgettable songs and jarring live performances have stuck in the ears and hearts of indie rockers all across the country. In February 2006, Hot Little Rocket spent a week in Chicago with legendary recording engineer Steve Albini (Pixies, Nirvana, Stooges) and came out of it with easily their strongest album to date, How To Lose Everything, which was released nationwide on June 26th, 2007.
Hot Little Rocket kicked off the album release with a two week tour of the West Coast and Prairies – each performance to a packed house. Highlights included performing alongside Spoon at the Sled Island music festival, rocking 34,000 music fans at the three-day sellout of Wakefest in Kelowna, and a sold out all ages album release party with special guest Julie Doiron.
Since then, Hot Little Rocket’s debut single “Like Killers” has been stirring it up at radio, getting heavy spins a X92.9 FM (Calgary’s New Rock Alternative), debuted at regional stations nationwide in their Earshot Top Ten and held tight in the National Earshot Top 20 for three months!
Perhaps best of all, during the week of October 10th, 2007 Hot Little Rocket’s new album charted as the #1 on CBC Radio 3! Since then, it’s been sitting comfortably at #3.
