Hearts & Daggers is the long awaited follow-up album to Miss Murgatroid and Petra Haden’s critically acclaimed 1999 debut release, Bella Neurox.
Hearts & Daggers offers nine tracks of absolute symphonic loveliness. The album could be described as a simple but unique combination of accordion, violin and voice pulled from waters deep and strange. With a mix of vocals and instrumentals that transport the listener from eerie dark alleys to the lush Italian seaside through to the false bottoms of haunted toy chests. … HOT LITTLE ROCKET …
The “Like Killers” music video”, directed by Calgary’s own Mike Peterson, has been nominated for an AMPIA (Alberta Motion Picture Ind. Award)! We’re up against Corb Lund and a few others.
The guys also played Canadian Music Week just before heading south to Austin. Without a doubt, they were one of the talks of the festival because they rocked it. So. Very. Hard.
They’re playing JunoFest! Check the Event section and/or Discussion Board for details.
Thinking about & working on the next video, wrapping up an Australian street date for “How To Lose Everything” along with routing a Canada & USA West Coast swing of tour dates … stay tuned!
… DAN MANGAN …
His debut album “Postcards & Daydreaming” will be released in Australia on March 22nd, 2008 on ABC/WEA
Our man Dan is touring Down Under in support of the release. There’s a bunkload of dates, check out the Discussion Board for details.
Thinking about & working on the next video, already started demo’ing tracks for the new album in which we’re shooting for a Fall 2008 release.
He also played Canadian Music Week just before heading south to Austin. Three gigs in two days, two of ‘em on the same night. Whatta champ. And him jumping off the stage of the Reverb, gathering the 100+ audience members into a tight circle around him for his closing number (”Basket”) was a moment I won’t soon forget.
He’ll be touring Quebec through out July … we’ll be posting those date’s here as soon as we have ‘em!
… MISS MURGATROID & PETRA HADEN …
Soon, little one. Soon.
